Nice vantage point and shot, Mark.

A few shots from a hike this weekend. I wanted to try out my barn door tracker but too many small town lights around and thin layer of clouds especially in the direction where the milky way was going to rise so I didn't bother. This one is without it at f5.6, ISO3200, 30 seconds.

Df, Zeiss 18/3.5 and 35/1.8G

Looks like my kind of event. Motorsports, interesting machinery and a sense of humour. Some solid panning skills there, too.

A small set from the recent Atomic Vintage Festival, my first time shooting with the big Nikon in a while and a really enjoyable weekend.

Thanks. But 30 seconds is a little long and some starts are elongated. That's some nice panning on the motorcycles.

Today I bought a Sigma 50mm F1.4 "Art". I also grabbed a USB Dock for it but haven't had much time to set it up. It was front focussing a bit and I luckily "guessed" a +5 adjustment which seems to be working a treat. It's a great lens but I'm surprised that there's still an obvious LGCA (most reviews started it was almost invisible) and a touch of Purple Fringing when shooting wide open. From about f/2.8 on my DA*55 is pretty much on par although the bokeh of the DA* isn't in the same league.

Here are a few Cat Test Shots (yes ubiquitous cat shots). As they are generally moving subjects with a lot of fine detail (hair) I thought it a decent way to test resolution, focus speed/accuracy:
