Your opinion about focus speed ?
Focus speed is fine.. I'm not conscious of having to wait for it and it's accurate.

A Sony A7 was added to the stable last week. Sold the 80-400G to fund it and few great MF lenses at silly prices (Contax G 90/2.8 and Olympus OM 28/2.8) plus the FE 55/1.8 and a bunch of adaptors (with a PK on the way). Excited to see what the FF sensor / camera can do but enjoyed taking it along with the D800E, to save me changing lenses, over the weekend. It is most certainly a terrible idea for anyone suffering from LBA !

I have the Contax G 45mm f/2.0 with TechArt AF or Metabones adapter available in marketplace.

Cheers,
Hin

Thanks Hin but I'd have to pay over US$200 just for the import duty on the lens (any lens, even a US$5 one) .. it's why there are so many 'grey imports' here. Everyone goes over to Japan or HK to buy them ! The Contax G range is superb though - why are you selling them ?

So despite my kit woes (Contax G adaptor wasn't delivered though my Contax R90 was and my OM adaptor arrived but the Oly Zuiko 24/2.8 didn't !) I was still able to enjoy the FE 55/1.8 on the new Sony A7 during my trip to my wife's hometown. We drove the 5 hours there from Shanghai (great roads) and from there, after a short break, drove the final couple of hours out into the beautiful countryside of Wencheng County in Zhejiang Province in China.

This the first shot I have processed. It's of the 207m high (close to 700 feet) Bailinshan Waterfall. The second is a near 100% crop. I am able to compare these next to the shots from my primary for the day, a D800E and Zeiss 21mm. They did well, very well.

Nice! I had my Zeiss 21 on eBay for 24 hours but chickened out and delisted it after taking a few "parting goodbye" shots. There's just something about the contrast that "gets you" as evidenced in your fine shot.

Trying to work through a few ideas for the Pentax Forums round 2 of the "Win a K-3 Competition":
