I suppose bigger pixel on FF would go in the opposite direction so your answer confirms that.
Not necessarily. The move to more megapixels (eg 36MP) heightens the risk of blur, even in FF.

Nikon made a big deal of the whole issue when the D800 was released, and even felt the need to release a 'technical guide' document for the D800/E to steer people (particularly 12MP D700 upgraders) around the hazards of shooting at such high MP:

'At the high resolutions offered by the D800/D800E, even the slightest camera motion can result in blur...', with all sorts of [sometimes rather obvious] tips about minimising blur.

Nikon D800 Technical Guide (PDF 2.8MP)

With full frame, especially for people shots, I generally shoot with higher ISOs than I did with APS, which of course allowed for faster shutter speeds, in turn minimizing blur due to camera shake and better freezing motion.

Fantastic ! Well deserved Mark, you've put up some stunning shots on here.
Thank you

A wonderful page of pictures. Best page I've seen for a while.

Zeiss 18mm arrived today and 135 f2 DC should be arriving in a day or so.

One with the Df and the Sigma 35 ART this morning

Proud and honoured to say that I've just been named the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year for 2014 with this image from Glen Coe

That image had me gobsmacked the first time I saw it here on PF--congratulations!

Nice image as always Mark. I've been working with Ross Hoddinott for the last few days and he asked me to pass his best wishes to you.

First time I have picked up my D800E in anger since June, and should have put the 70 - 200 f/4 on it rather than the 300 f/4, but it was too late to go back to Ross's car to get it. The seas around Cornwall have a special quality about them being very turquoise in colour and ideal for surfers all year around. Images with my 645Z from this location are here:

Does that have a 'Constable' feel to it ? My first thought on viewing.

Simply love the 135/2 DC, it is the best portrait lens I own. Simply brilliant.

One of my favourite shots from a recent trip with my wife to the Yangshuo area on the Li River, Guangxi, China.

Might as well post another from the 5D3 & 85 combo. From earlier this year in Cambodia.

NIce shot Frogfish! I've seen a number of cool photos of these cormorant fishermen from different photographers.. so I wonder, do people pay them to get them to pose for the photo? Doesn't take anything away from the photo, I'm just curious if that's their livelihood more so than their fishing.
