I was testing out some real estate photography at my a friends house. I was taking bracketed photos with the intention of blending them together but I discovered that the properly exposed photo in most cases was more than sufficient. But for the ones that had the darkness of inside and opened to the bright area outside, I discovered I could use the -3ev shot. In this case I gave it +3.5 in exposure and pulled highlights all the way down. I do love my D810 raw files at base ISO!

36MP does make a difference. Looks like a bit of barrel distortion left in the image.

Yeah the Tamron 15-30mm is a spectacular lens, but does suffer from a hint of distortion (you don't notice it outside). I haven't done anything in this picture to try and correct that.

If that's all the distortion there is it's not very much compared to other wide zooms.

Yeah... It's pretty good. Not as good as the Nikon 14-24mm for distortion (which I did own and sold to buy the Tamron) but the Tamron is better in every other way, and considerably cheaper. Pentax people have a lot to look forward to when they get their rebadged version.

Little handheld macro shoot on the Discovery Park beach this afternoon. Haven't used this lens in over a year...

Some Long Beach landmarks.

You can google "skinny house" - a national record holder. I went the "wrong" way on the shift, but I like it :-)

This was the Hot Cha Cafe, among other names.

Just a few steps west of the coffee pot building. Long Beach has a Grand Prix...

And an aquarium, a whale mural on the sports arena, and a couple notable high-rises.

You can also google the Bembridge house.

Almost exactly 4 years since I jumped to a D700, no regrets worth mentioning but as a Pentaxian of 10 years I will be keeping an eye on the newly announced K1.

That 'old' D700 can still produce some magical images especially with a Takumar lens.

I may be getting a new car in a month or two, but not one of these...
