Been pretty busy between work and evening classes lately, but got some time to do portraits in the park recently. Here's one I liked with a split-tone treatment:

Couple from my first earnest outing with my 200-500/5.6. Long lenses are challenging but fun!

First was a group of ducks taking off right before I called it quits for the day:

And on my way out, someone pointed out a red-tailed hawk in a distant tree, and a recently-dispatched rabbit it had hung from a lower branch (for safe-keeping?)

This is many people's favourite mountain. From the front to looks like a proper mountain. This may be too contrasty for some people's taste, but I kind of like it...

I really like the compo (and light) in the last shot, I think the telephoto works so much better with the subject matter.

A D600 landed with me today, and I rushed out to take pics of the dog with the 50/1.8D I also bought, to see what this 'FF shallow DOF' business was all about.

Yep. The DOF is definitely much shallower. And 50mm is more of a usable walkaround focal length. Now to take some more interesting pictures!

Nice atmosphere on that one. 99/100 (If the horizon was level I would say 100).

I had to send the 50/1.8D used in my initial test shots back - the focus ring kept sticking in manual focus. Looking at the bokeh in my shots, it's not exactly smooth. Looking at it makes me feel like I'm going to get a migraine. I'm wondering if the 50/1.8G would be noticeably better.

A 50/1.8G came with my Df. I've only used it once. I'll give it a bokeh test when I get a chance and post it here for you. Of course with its 7 aperture blades lights won't be as round as with the 9 rounded blades on say the 58/1.4G when stopped down a little.

Here is some bokeh on the 85/1.8G

Thanks for that! I think the 85/1.8G would actually be the way to go. It's been one of the most impressive lenses on this thread and that's a great example. I have recently got hold of a 35/2 which feels like a natural focal length for my use, and the 85 would probably complement it better.
