Help with some old nikkon gear.

I've just found a family camera from my granddad.

Its a Nikon AF F-801s

It has 2 lenses

Nikkon AF Nikkor 35-135mm 1:3.5-4.5
&
Nikkon AF Nikkor 28-85mm 1:3.5-4.5

Both made in Japan.

Also have these
'close-up attachment lenses Nos. 5T and 6T'

and this
Nikon speedlight SB-24

How much would these lenses and other stuff be worth?
Can I use them on a modern digital body? If so which one?

I just bought a pentax k-x am I going to feel sorry for myself?

These are high quality filters.

Will have to look up eBay.

Both lenses can be used on Nikon DSLRs.

I cannot answer that question, but if gone the Nikon route, you might just pickup a lowend Nikon kit and you will have the 35-135 covering the tele end. Should be quite a saving.

Though you will only get auto-focus with bodies that have an AF motor. This rules out the lower-end consumer models.

Here is a suggestion. Why not shoot a little film with the camera?

This kit is pretty much the typical non-pro level Nikon kit from the late '80s to early '90s. The lenses will work on the current Nikon DSLRs and auto focus on the Nikons having camera body AF motors such as the D90. You should have spot and center-weighted metering available.

The flash will not work in TTL mode on a modern Nikon camera - you'll only get a full blast. You would need to use it manually.

The camera is a pretty good shooter (it was released to the market in 1988 and was quite poplular) so it's well worth loading some film and going for a walk.

I agree about the close-up lenses being of excellent quality. I have a set of Nikkor close-ups from the early '70s that produce wonderful results.
