I'm an old (like 72) Nikon shooter - Nikon F all the way to F100, then a D200. I then changed to Pentax; a K20D with 20-35, 17-70 and a Komine 70-210 series 3.
All was well, then I sold the K20D and got a K-7. Beautiful Camera!!!! BUT, I had the green line issue (which got fixed) and continued to see the noise in the dark areas when I went for higher ISOs (latest firmware). I do some of this for money, so flash is not always an option - so, I sold the Pentax gear and went back to Nikon - a D300S and several lenses (3). Now comes the K-5. Within the next week I need to make a decision as I have the opportunity to sell the Nikon at a "no loss" price.
The big question is - is there really a significant difference from a "results" perspective. Both systems hace great legacy lens compatibility, and both are well made, weather sealed cameras. We're talking family portrait work - sometimes with significant croping, and a some landscape stuff. I hope this is the correct thread or forum section - and I'm sure that I'm not the only D300S user with this question. Looking for insight into this little delima!!!!
