I picked one up today, just goofing around and i can say, so far 800 and 1600 iso in low light are HORRIBLE so far until i test it out some more but it's my casual travel camera so it is what it is.

My dad said it's like a ***** on my face zoomed out....thanks dad lol

The low light HD videos I have seen from the Canon SX30 IS look as good as the same type of low light HD videos from consumer HD camcorders I have seen.

What an excellent little camera, very impressed by the video and the IS at long telephoto lengths.

picture quality

So how's the still picture quality on one of these? I was thinking of adding a sx10 or sx20 to my bag and letting go of one of my K20s, but wonder about the noise at higher ISO. Anyone shoot a K20? how does it compare at equal ISO? How about low light focus, like inside the house with only a lamp on?? Might be nice to have such a zoom range without having to carry lots of heavy glass......

thanks

If you don't want noise at higher ISOs then stick with the K20 .
