60D's in dpreview already. Looking good!

Wow Canon seemingly managed to "improve" on a previous generation sensor.

Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review

Let us pixel peep into it and compare it to the 7D and 550D. They also seem to have samples from a D7000. Too bad they don't have K-5 samples to ruin these nice cameras.

And this is a camera with a SRP of $1.1k.

What I think would suck is I don't think the LiveView of the 60D will match that of the K-5 or D7000. To think that it's got that nice articulated 3:2 screen

I'm actually surprised.
By the sound of most conversations, I would have expected it to be next to useless!

Meh, I really don't care much for the 60D but I suppose Canon had to plug the gap between the EOS 550D and the EOS 7D with something. I feel that it was a deliberately handicapped DSLR so that it didn't encroach on the EOS 7D.

However, that's not to say it's a bad camera at all as it is very feature rich for enthusiasts who don't care for what the 7D brings to the table.

Newegg had the 60D for $849 last week ($999 - 15%). It's the best DSLR for HD video IMHO.

It's contrast detect, why would it be any quicker than 3 or 4 seconds? How does this hamper usability?

but is it just me or the k-5 images seem to be a bit out of focus?

You must not have seen the K5's contrast detect - you know, the one that is fast as a snap of the fingers! (btw that wasn't a joke; 3-4 seconds is though!).
