The registration distance of M mount is short, I guess there is space for adapters for most of SLR mounts.

With the Leica-M mount, there is space for adaptaters for all SLR mounts but Pentax 110.

For the right $ I would be interested.
(..)
Looks like Ricoh just announced they're making one for leica M-mount lenses - this will compete against the M9/M8 somewhat so i can understand there being a market for them using M-mount.

so why not a K-mount, Nikon-Ai or other mfg's for that matter? - probably a matter of market demand.
I presume so.

I made a quick study last September on the sales of adapters on eBay. Among all adapters actually sold for Sony NEX, more than 40 per cent. were Leica-M --> Sony E adapters.

well it's not about the adapter, it's about having a full frame camera to use with our lenses.

As long as the K-mount module was full frame I don't necessarily think it would need to have autofocus. To me the full frame option for digital K-mount would be the most compelling part of it.

this would make it a lot cheaper. But then again, having AF, even slow contrast AF would make it usable to more people.

The camera back with EVF cost in The Netherlands 460 euro.

Could a manual focus full frame module be made for 540 euro, so you have full frame for less then a K-5 costs?

What I mean is that a full frame module with Leica M mount would allow to use any reflex mount lens with the right adapter, with a larger market than a K mount. Larger market equals lower price.

I don't think so. Full frame sensors are much more expensive than APS-C sensors. Look for instance at the price of Nikon D700 compared to the price of D300.

I think you should at least doubling the price, but anyway a 2000 euros full frame camera able to use any FF lens ever made would be a huge success.

IMO part of the cost is strictly artificial as a mean of segmenting the market. But yes they are more quite expensive, indeed.

It's a nice idea but the K-mount registration distance would mean that any FF K-mount module would be substantially thicker than the M-mount one will be.

Not sure how the handling would be effected by this given that the grip would, obviously, remain the same.

I'm interested in the GXR system even without the capability to mount other brand's lenses on it. If they added a K-mount option, consider me sold!

I'm a little surprised that the Minolta gear is still sought to that degree. Could be why I wasn't able to find much of it in any of the stores in Tokyo over the past 18 months--use on MILC's!

+1 Over here for an APS-C or full frame sensor with K mount, makes logical sense especially if more K mount lenses will be developed, Ricoh wont make any money from Leica Lenses

The earlier this announced the better, the x100 looks awefully promising along with the Olympus and Panasonic M4/3.

Cant wait till october, hopefully time for Ricoh to flesh out some plans and hopefully a roadmap
