Husband is going Nikon

My husband is going Nikon mainly for the video offerings of the D7000. The dual SD slots appears to be what pushes him in that direction along with the ability to change the audio input. I suppose it's fine in that I'm not into buying duplicates of many of the Pentax glass I already own. It would be a pain when we are on our travels if he had to continually ask for a lens I am using.

So Nikon is coming to our home for various reasons. Ugh.

I searched for a cool forum for him to make home, but they are 100% more anal than here. Does anyone know of a Nikon forum that is as relaxed and helpful as this one?

It would have been easier if he sat me down and said he liked men! I could take that easier!

Don't get too secure. He could still use any M42 lenses you might own on it with an adapter. It's his call to make, but I am betting he'll be back to Pentax sooner or later. From what I have seen it's hard for ex-Pentax people to go over to the dark side for long.

Not with infinity focus, though.

It should be an interesting ride. When we are out and about, he goes in one direction and I in the other. Once, we each had an *istD and it was a pain when he wanted to borrow a lens. Plus, he's not as "Gentle" and "Caring" as I am or experienced and I CRINGED when he'd swap out lenses. I have over Pentax 70 lenses in various makes and mounts and they took YEARS to collect. Sure there is some M42 in there, but he can't touch my 50mm 1.4 Takumar!

I think it is probably better that he goes Nikon as I don't have to share, and I have *zero* interest in anything Nikon he might buy or drop.

I'm at Nikon Cafe. It's fine. A little anal in their moderating, threads closing for bugger-all reason, I got told off for saying "crap"! I think I'm getting over camera fora. It's nowhere near as sophisticated as this one, you have to host photos elsewhere and link to them (so they show in the post)

As much as I'm moving over to Nikon for 35mm film work, this forum is absolutely awesome. The community is incredible, the information is amazing (look at our camera and lens review database!!), and it's a very easy and robust site.

I would post my Nikon questions here hehe

Agreed. I don't shoot Pentax anymore, but I still kick around here a bit.

I second FredMiranda as well. The quality of work there is very high.

Now THAT is funny!
To be honest, now, I am not as sad that he's going Nikon. Granted, I will go to my grave as a Pentaxian, but if Pentax ceases to exist, there's not much I will be able to do. I'm glad that we will now be "diversified" in our camera gear.
