Red Hi-Contrast Filter

one extension tube with Fujian 35mm f/1.7
1/320 sec, 35mm, f/1.7, iso 100, 0 Ev, nex 5n
PP: red hi-contrast filter, medium grain, vignette, darkness and shadow adjustment

I love the little silver lens from Fujian. I love how the nearby objects are rendered. I see great visual perspective in wide open shots showing the visual effects on DOF. Love it but the problems may show up in farther object rendered with busy bokeh, sometime with sharp edges of busy lighting. I am someone oddly in love with film grain and I will need to look up for plugins for b&w film filter and grain touch up in LR.

If you have any great recommendation on B&W conversion in LR, please comment.

Cheers,
Hin
Quite nice, Hin.

It's been raining in Sydney for the past few days. In a bout of cabin fever, I decided to go out and take some photos in the rain. By the time I finished, both me and my camera were soaking wet.

I dreamt of a secret garden full of wondrous flowers.

I followed a path that may lead me there.

The road twisted to avoid a plant.

Round and round I turned until I was lost.

Which way should I go - left, right, or forward?

I found a chair and sat down exhausted.

Suddenly, I spied a water fountain and drank from it.

Suddenly everything became clear.

I now know the way.

I can see the road ahead of me.

I found another seat, full of fallen jacaranda flowers.

The garden was truly filled with wondrous flowers.

Even in the rain, they blossom.

I took a photo on my camera.

It soon became dark, and I had to leave.

I used the flowers to guide me out.

Now all I have is a faded memory.

Great shots, as usual.

My camera was collecting dust for the last couple of month. Occasionally, I liked yesterdays weather at night, so made yet another panorama.

Nice, I am looking forward to seeing your panos with an A7r. Or does it not play nice with your glass?

I don't think there will be a difference: panorama main purpose is to increase resolution, so one shot resolution doesn't matter much there. And yes, A7r doesn't seem to work well with my lenses. I decided to pass this generation and waiting for the new tech sensors with photodiodes placed closer to color filters, which relieve oblique rays issues despite I want a new toy very much. Or for multilayer sensors with independent color layers: in this case independent deconvolutions for different layers will improve color mismatching issues.

BTW, I don't like these new cameras: I like tilted EVF, I like touchscreen. And both A7 and A7r are larger than my Pentax K-m was.

Nice shot!
I use a Silver Efex Pro from the Nik Collection for my B&Ws, there is quite a selection of fine presets available there.

Do you mean problems with wideangle rangefinder lenses? I've seen some samples and it doesn't look good...
A touchscreen would be nice but somehow Sony doesn't believe in a EVF+touchscreen combination...

Anyway I'm strongly tempted by the IQ of A7r. I'd love to see how my FD lenses work on this sensor.

BTW: nice night shot!

Thank you

Another panorama. The first sunset that really felt to be winter: illuminated sky tend to have orange cast rather than purple one what is typical for summers. Nothing interesting, but I enjoyed looking the horizon, may be you will share my feelings (quite large, 4096px width).

Nice shot, I really miss that game. We used to have a table in the office, great times.
