Hiya Folks! I must say this thread is the most supportive and pleasant place to share photos that I've seen on the interwebs!!

I promise to dig up some more NEX pics and post ASAP.

In the meantime, thank you everyone for keeping it going!!!

Thanks, you are so kind.

I tend to frame a composition in my mind, long before I lift the camera. One of the reasons I get long battery life is I normally leave the camera turned off until I want to take a picture.

It's one of the reasons I hate zooms and will never use them. Zooms destroy my ability to frame a photo in my head and they mess with my brain.

On the rare times I do shoot with a zoom these days I try to always think of it as a collection of primes then a "zoom". It helps me be less lazy and think about how I want to capture a subject in space.

Jim, old buddy! What are you doing hanging around over here at PF? I thought I was the only Talkemount renegade.

Tried processing some ARWs in Lightroom - in-camera JPEG engine really is pretty weak I think.

Many thanks!

Took a cheapo Olympus Zuiko 28mm f/3.5 out for a spin today. Absolutely superb at f/8-11:

Not at all! Really liked the second of this set but I'm limited to my phone ATM so maybe it just works better small. Still nice results from a cheap and cheerful lens!

A few street shots with the 5n, great for this sort of thing for sure!

I use three lenses on it via the Speedbooster - Leica Elmarit-R 28 (last version), Kern-Macro-Switar 50/1.9 and Leica APO-Summicron-R 90mm ASPH.

Went to Parramatta yesterday - didn't realise they had renovated the train station.

Sorry, couldn't resist taking another photo of woman on mobile phone:

She is so absorbed it's easy to take photos of her:

Even as cold and windy as it is, the birdies love the sunshine. The last 4 are not crops; I was able to zoom in very close because I was only a little over a meter from the feeder. NEX-5R + Vivitar (Kiron) 75-205 f3.8.
