That XS1 looks really compact?! isn't that the same sensor size as Nikon 1s?
NVM i found English info over at 1000 Noisy cams; it's a superzoom 26X backlit 1 2/3 CMOS, this just might be my superzoom replacement as i passed on my Canon SX30is and was waiting for the SX40HS but i really like the X100 so much i might go all Fuji for my P&S bag.

Waiting to see if the Q has irritating issues first.

That is really disappointing. I would love to have seen this with an APS-C sized sensor. I guess that blows the chance of having an X100 like rangefinder with interchangeable lenses.

X100 and X10 equals huge win, the XS-1, not so much. I think Fuji would have been much better off sticking to the same formula as the X100 and X10, in regards to the XS-1. I just can not see the XS-1 doing well. its very compact for its body design, and thats a plus, but I don’t see how its any better than an entry level digital SLR, such as a pentax K-r or nikon d5000, or canon rebel, etc. a body design along the lines of the other two X series with interchangeable lenses would have been a far smarter way to go, plain and simple. I think fuji really made a mistake with this one, and I fear that won’t do much to help fuji sell more X100 an X10’s.

The fixed lens market segment including super zooms is a much bigger market than DSLRs with a much larger profit margin, Fujifilm is just expanding/diversifying in that segment for each own target / buyer(s).

X-S1 is just a superzoom they introduced. I don't think they released any info on the interchangeable lens model yet? The X-??? model in this roadmap:

If it'll be in X100 style I'm interested...

Mirrorless Rumors | Blog | Thom Hogans guess about the new Fuji sensor (+ X100 in Stock).

Meanwhile Thom Hogan wrote: “[...] these things seem vaguely clear: (1) a new lens mount (i.e. not m4/3); (2) a larger than APS/DX sensor, but not as big as full frame/FX; (3) higher resolution and better noise handling than any existing FX sensor (which means more than 24mp and better than D3s); and (4) non-Bayer in nature.“

@FujiGuys say upcoming mirrorless will be "premium", not part of current/M43rds systems - 1001 Noisy Cameras

'Premium'?

What the hell is that supposed to mean? A FF mirrorless from Fuji?

I don't think it needs to Full Frame to be premium but perhaps it will be. The X100 is a great camera. My K5 has been sitting the shelf collecting dust since I got it. If I had to guess I would look for something along the lines of X100 with a 28, 50, 85 equivalents. They probably aren't going to do big zooms. Sort of poor man's M9. There's a really good market for that. A lot of people (and I'm certainly not saying this the majority of camera owners) don't want to carry around a big DSLR and all the lenses. I think I read where Fuji had sold 70,000 X100's. Sure it's not Canon Rebel numbers but that's not the only way to make money and run a business. You can cater to specific markets and be successful.

I feel certain that if the new Fuji camera does 28, 35, 50, and 85 I'll be pre ordering based on my experience with the X100. At that point I would sell off the rest of my Pentax equipment.

On the other hand, I'm thrilled with the Ricoh purchase of Pentax. The GXR is the only camera I have that I like as much as the X100. That's a real photographers camera. Extremely well built too. They just need to get their EVF up the Olympus EVF 2 quality. The Olympus has an really good EVF.

I am going to guess a 1.3x crop ala M8 to keep costs in line. Would be fun if Fuji starts cranking out some premium gear, back in the days they had some really great medium format rangefinders with fantastic optics.

Fujifilm has announced the X-S1 high-end superzoom and confirmed its intention to build a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera.. Source.

Let's see what they come up with.

Can't wait to see what Fuji has in store. If it's like an X100 with interchangeable lenses, sign me up.
