Okay Rupert! Careful stressing the heart! No one whats to do CPR on an ole' fart......

This is for tuco. Here's a shot taken after a few adjustments to the DR. Anyhoo, you are correct! Looks good to me. Hand held, using my antique, 70-120mm Tamron junker, lens at about twelve feet. Think I'm done tinkering with settings as such. Planing a little outting with the daughter into the mountains soon. We're just going to spend the day taking photos. I need to escape............

Nope, wasn't me! Think pbancr started the fungi thing! BTW, great shots pbancr!

Check out Stan's Boletus! Whoa! Nice pictures! We don't get many Boletus around here, but a few sprout in the late Fall. Yes, I do enjoy mushroom photos and yours great!

This is Russula my avatar, X10:

Another Russula mushroom non-edible, X10.

vrubel, great shot of the young'en. I see a lot of young parents posting photos of their children! Good stuff! I admit I'm enjoying the Grandparent phase......spoil them and send them home! Course now my Granddaughter is 19 so she's nearly an adult - perhaps in another 10 years, or so........ :-)

Love the latest photos you guys posted, lovely bloom Will....fine mushrooms Stan....and love those little boy shots Vrubel, they are excellent!

Old Rupert is still girl hunting...got to get ready for my studio opening later this Fall! Heather was off today, but her new fill in, Shauna did just fine. She sat with old Rupert while I ate lunch to keep me from "getting lonely". Damn I'm a lucky guy!....no kidding!

Shauna,,,,more coming this Fall!

She's got the eyes too!

Will....Heart's in great shape.....not so much everything else!

Best Regards!

I'm not a technical sort of guy.....I'm more of one that would read a Playboy for the "pretty pictures" rather than the vast intellectual content in the written articles.
However, I do wonder about Fuji EXR at times...and wonder if it is something real and different or just a "Tooth Fairy" story.

I read this....but ended up just looking at the "pretty pictures" ....like I always do!

Anyone want to a take a look and make any comments about EXR or Fuji processing? I have to admit, I am always drawn to Fuji colors.....and haven't seen anything else get the colors like a Fuji can do...your opinion may vary, but I see what I see!

Great shots. Love mushroom photos and yours are very good! Thanks for posting! BTW, The blue mushroom and the orange one are edible? I disclaim all liability - eat at you're own risk. Not sure about the top Boletus - I'm inclined to think it's bad news. The yellow jobbie is bad news.

We are on fire here in N. California! Huge fires roaring away and the smoke is too thick to go outside! Stuck inside! Temp is 106F humidity is 6%.

Took the above photo last evening from our house. The volcano, that is barely visible in the left side of the photo, is Mt. Lassen at 10,463' above sea level. That is the smoke plume, not clouds - one huge fire and it is completely out of control.

@will...I think we'll leave the mushrooms in the woods and only eat ones from the grocery store!

Wow! That's a lot of smoke in the air....are you in the danger zone? Its been such a dry summer across the country...pretty scary.

Stay safe.

Awesome photo Will - you really captured the raw essence of the fire. And 6% humidity.......I've never felt air that dry!

OK - mushrooms - I told my wife that today is mushroom day with the Fuji. Since she is the more creative one, we headed out while she spotted mushrooms around the property. Actually, these were all taken within 50 yards of the house. All jpegs straight out of the camera, but I was playing/testing some different settings as I went along. I really enjoyed this exercise as I learned a lot more about the X10, and am learning to "see" instead of just "looking".

And, my "helper". He just couldn't figure out why Dad was laying on his belly all afternoon in the grass. Actually, he was not much of a helper as he would come investigating what I was concentrating on, and step on my subjects! 200 pounds of dog paw on these tender little mushrooms didn't turn out so well. My wife had to run interference so I could continue shooting. This was my view while laying in the grass:

Stan, that's great! You and the wife out photographing mushrooms. Good photos too! Nice varity! Looks like the mice, squirrels and rabbits have been nibbling......

My wife generally comes along wherever I go! We're a set after 43 years. It's no fun without her along.
