Mike, no way I would trust my car with DPReview motor oil! It would turn sour before the first turn!

Abie/Pat....I love those B/W photos you post. I have a question? Is that the BW from the camera or are you getting those deep true blacks from processing? I can never get that true BW kind of capture.
Hey thanks, I process my B/W photos in Lightroom. I do like what comes out of the X100, especially if I use the different B/W filters, but it's just easier/faster to shoot color and convert. I do like deep dark blacks/high contrast in my B/W photos.....but for me it's just depends on the scene.

Blacks are easy to crush in a RAW editor. In the case of LR, just slide the black slider bar down and maybe pull up the shadows some after that. You are compressing the black tone scale. It makes it look like pushed BW film to some degree but in the case of 35mm BW film (which most people relate to when thinking of film) it usually is much more grainy and grungy and not so sterile looking as the digital version.

You guys hungry! I miss old Will, he posted some good eats! Reckon he's gone to the big studio in the sky?

I take my 86-87? (I forget) year old Mom out to eat once a month, and this time she wanted a great burger, so we had the best!

30 minutes later this place was packed!

My sister had the bacon-cheeseburger. All Black Angus beef.

Regards! Eat up!

Yum... a good burger is always a treat. I don't like corporation burgers much. Mom & Pop shops usually have much better ones. And the better burgers are not made from frozen beef.

The last time he logged in was January 13th. If that's the case - peace be with you Will!

I had a few private message conversations with Will, and although he had some major problems, they all seemed to be under control and not immediately life threatening. We just never know about tomorrow or even today. It's a good reason we should try to be better friends, better listeners, and better members here. Will was a hard liner in many ways and we were political adversaries , but I certainly enjoyed his postings and looked forward to them. I admired his sense of conviction, and his hard work in life, as well as his shooting abilities........he posted some very nice shots. If he is indeed gone to the big studio in the sky, I will miss him and always remember him in my thoughts.
Regards!

Looks really great Burnie! At ISO 3200, it shows the X10 is very capable. Supposedly the new X20 will be even better, but I don't see how? Maybe so, we'll know soon enough.
I know this, you are gonna love the X10....almost everyone does! Have fun, it is a fun camera!

Regards!

X100, but I wish I hadn't used ISO 6400. I could have got away with less, and needed to employ much noise reduction to make these acceptable.

The doggie on the right looks a bit suspicious--then they often do in photographs. Looks like a sweet couple of dogs.

Ernie is my GFs big German shepherd / lab mix. Lily is a tiny little beagle / basset of a friend of mine. They are both very sweet dogs, and Lily is only suspicious of Ernie, because he is a first-rate butt sniffer. :lol

You cleaned them up nicely. It looks warm there. I'm so waiting for spring to arrive where I live.
