Dunno whether this has been posted on the forum yet, but here's a link to Fuji's PDF guide for the X-E1:
FUJIFILM X-E1 Photographer's Guidebook | FUJIFILM

Should be useful to users of other X systems too since a lot of the internals are common across the entire range.

Tuco ----Love the sunsets! That look...see it all too often around here!

Junyo---Fine shot! Gorgeous really!

Stan---Plenty green around here now too. Any day that 100+ F temperature will arrive, and I'll be in heaven once again!

Regards!

Thanks for the link! I downloaded the set for future reading. I don't have an X-E1 yet but I will enjoy reading this great guide.

Never been to Montreal, but would love to go...I hear it's a beautiful city. Nice capture!
Thanks.

Make time. It's a great city. Tons of Old World architecture and a laid back Euro vibe without the long flight. Pretty much wall to wall festivals in the summer. Amazing food; in light of the earlier discussion, my WI born and raised wife approves of the chess curds made in Montreal, even on poutine. Go early spring and get to to a sugar shack.

As far as I am concerned I welcome all Fuji pics!

Your image is so sharp and lifelike! I've been contemplating the X-E1 with that 18-50 lens - it sure does a great job in your hands Clicker!

Clicker, that 18-55 is certainly no "Kit Lens"!!! I could get excited over a couple of zooms of that quality.

I love all photos, camera brands make little difference, but I have to admit, Fuji shots seem to get my attention the most.

Regards!

The Fuji 18-55 is so good that I'm thinking of selling my DSLR gear when the 55-200 telezoom comes out.

I've already moved the Gordy's strap from the K-5 to the X-E1.

I need my K5 for the use of the Bigma when I shoot wildlife, but otherwise could certainly live with in happiness with the X-E1...and may...when the new model comes out later this year. Zooms are all I need, and now they will be available!

Thanks for the comments but I wouldn't pack up my DSLR and telephotos because the I still need the fps, CAF tracking etc for "true" sports capture...the mirrorless are just additional tools suited for certain genere in a lightweight package

@ stormtech, if you search Tuco's earlier postings with the XP1 and the Aussie Chris with her NEX with adapted zeiss...now those are beautiful captures and what lead me to the mirrorless world.

The XE1 and the 18-55 kit (bundled here in T.O with an E20 flash) should be an excellent daily shooter.

The irony in that shot to me is that with video smaller is not always more convenient to shoot. A tripod is still needed. Probably more so than with a larger video camera, at least for me. No mass to help handhold it steady.

Thanks for the compliments but you're too kind.

Clicker, I am thinking the same way I guess. The thing with me is I shoot 300mm (FA*300 4.5) most of the time since all my shooting is done in a forest environment - my DA* 60-250 comes close in usage. But I love the concept of mirror-less cameras, and of course love the Fuji colors and build quality.

Then the other aspect for me is handling. I have RA pretty bad and it affects my hands and fingers the most. There are days that I can't even think about picking up my K-5 w/grip, so that is when I turn to my x100 to shoot. The light weight and size helps in that manner, but then I have a hard time holding on to the x100 at times because it is so small and has no real finger grip. That is why I have been hesitating trying the X-E1 since the body is basically a box shape with no deep finger grip like the K-5. What I need to do is take the grip off my K-5, and work with a couple smaller primes for a bit to see how that works on those bad days. The grip is essential for me with the longer lenses along with my very nice Camdapter hand strap - just need to remember that the grip comes off easily when I want to lighten it up.

After all that is said however, the X-E1 still beacons me for some reason. I'll never be able to hold one without buying, so I may just have to buy one from one of our vendors that have a good return policy to feel it. I hate doing that though as I don't like taking advantage of the vendors.

Without seeing either in person.....I tend to lean toward the X-E1 for the first reason of it having an adjustable diopter. With the X-pro1 you have to buy separate diopter lenses - kind of ridiculous to me in this day and age.

With my x100 I find myself using the EVF most of the time, so missing the OVF of the X-pro1 wouldn't bother me. I just love seeing the live histogram in the viewfinder!

That's about it - same sensor in both and take the same lenses.
