Did you all see the firmware update for the X-E2 (or is this already old news) ?

Seemingly, this is bringing the X-E2 rather close to the X-T1 in terms of :
1. EVF refresh rate now at 0.005 s
2. focus peaking in differrent colours and intensity (useful in some cases I think)
3. Added functions that can be assigned to the Fn (Function) button
4.Added “Suppressed Flash” option when selecting flash mode (whatever for that one ...)
See the full description here: New firmware for X-E2 enhances performance, functions and the Real Time Viewfinder.

Yea did see that JP, does make the X-E2 quite a lot of sense if you are not fussed about weather sealing.

The only thing annoying me about the X-Pro and X10 is the lack of MIC input or ability to use the USB port as in the X20, but for the amount of video I do it would only be a luxury.

Cheers, Steve

Skank...I don't recall ever doing video, I'll have to try it sometime. I love the X20, the features it added are great, but I still think the EXR sensor in the X10 gives better results in most cases. I do know the X20 has better resolution, but for most shots I do, it is not a big difference.

Regards!

I only ever video my “other” hobby.... I’m not a big video fan when it comes to capturing moments rather see a photograph.

I did try with the X-Pro 1, put the lens into manual to stop it from hunting like mad, does an OK job would just like that bit better audio from when I’m at a show.

One with the X-Pro:

And the last one I took with my old K-r

Those both look pretty good to me, the X-Pro has better exposure but the K-r sure holds its own. BTW- That was a really neat engine show! Enjoyed it!

Regards!

I have been shooting mainly film for the past few months, but decided to take my X100 on a trip to Bend, Oregon.
This is a 5 shot stitched pano that I shot yesterday from the top of Lava Butte.

Amazing photograph. That looks like a truly amazing place too. Is that all new growth in the plains? The Western US is very special, and this helps to get a sense of what must be a great location. Is that a crater in the foreground?

One from work - X-Pro1 and 35

A gent was on with the XT-1 the other day who let me have a wee play. I might have to have a rearrangement of kit to get this in. Loved it.

Thanks David.
The plains below were logged sometime in the last 100 years, so I guess that's all new growth.
The crater is the caldera of Lava Butte, which is a volcanic cinder cone that is part of the Newberry volcano. Lava Butte erupted some 7000 years ago, creating the lava fields below.

I haven't been out of the house to do any shooting in a few days, but Missoula's rainy season is upon us giving me clouds a plenty to photograph right outside my window. The Tammy 500mm does impressive things with a long enough hood (oh my, zero contrast without a hood - spend 15 bucks on a generic hood the length of the lens!) and some post processing.

Out for a spring walk today with the 35mm 1.4 and a 3-stop ND filter so I could do some shallow DoF in the sunlight

Preparing for a race to be run on the trail tomorrow - colorful flags, how could f/1.4 resist!

This guy may just be the most photographed object in the city - but I'm pretty pleased with this shot of him, just the same.
