Zenit-E lenses

Hey everyone, with the zenit-e can you use any M42 mount lens or does it have to have the diaphragm ring?

First, make sure you have an M42 Zenit-E - some were M39. The Zenit-E lacks aperture automation, so you cannot use lenses that require that, like the Helios 44M-4, for example.

sovietcams should be your reference for these cameras - look up your model of Zenit-E there.

ah,thanks and im sure mines a m42 mount as i have a tele conveter which i use
