Christmas morning on Stratton Mountain, Vermont. The "rainbow" in the passing squall caught my eye and I had just enough time to stop, get my gloves off, get my phone out and get the shot. The iPhone 5s came through, as always. The shot is cropped a little.

Frankly, there is no reason to regret for this

My 'proper' cameras were in my car a mile away while I was at an event, so the best camera was the one I had with me - the iPhone 6plus. I used the Manual app to get a slow shutter speed of 1/4 and ISO of 64 to get the image quality as high as possible:

With results like this, phones are now proper cameras, and no longer a make-do. This will surely isolate the true photographic hobbyist to the more sophisticated and versatile SLR type equipment. I see no reason for a middle ground zone anymore.

I would have to agree, there. I find that my 5S does very well under normal circumstances and even in abnormal. It's surprisingly good at wringing out the best of the light in almost any but dead dark situations.

And I just love Hipstamatic

There are other phone apps as well which are really excellent, but I find that Hipstamatic and the built-in app are enough for me, for now.
