Yeah, I wish they would fix the JPEG engine, but I don't think that is ever going to happen. The edited raw images look very good though.

Here are a few from our recent beach trip:

and the good thing is it is quick and easy to throw it into auto to pass off to others so you can get in some of the family photos

I'm the opposite - love the colours I get from my OM-D E-M5, but not the JPEG noise! Cannot seem to get the same colours using DxO, and the Olympus RAW converter seems little better than the in-camera JPEG engine when it comes to noise...

On a separate note, here's a 7-photo, 63MP pano from the fantastic 45/1.8...

I don't mind the colors, if anything I have to make the images a bit warmer in post but not too bad. The pentax cameras I had tended to lean a bit green so its something I'm used to. I think maybe the JPEGs are soft on my LX100 because its trying to cover up the noise. I'd rather have some noise and a sharp photo than a soft one.

A few from today's sunset over the ICW.

Nice shots. I find on my GM1 that scenery or portrait mode are good for jpgs, but in daylight, I turn both the NR and sharpening down to -4 and -1 respectively. DR on auto is ok, but also turning intelligent resolution off also helps. In general, I do not have a problem with detail, except at landscape distance, where I find micro 4/3 to struggle a little.

I do need to dive into the settings a bit more and see what I can do. So far I'm surprised how hard I can push the RAW files, I can get very good detail in the shadows and even crop an image pretty heavily. The noise is there but not as bad as I expected, my old K200D was much much worse.
