Pany 12-32 is not at all bad, sharp in the centre but weaker in the corners; best at about f/4 or so. It's main forte however is that it is tiny!

Here's a poor technical example, but I like it anyway:

E-M5
Oly 12-32
Some free camera shake!

Oly 7-14/2.8 is undoubtedly great, but very big for m43. Maybe the 9-18 is the sweet spot for size/IQ/width?

PS Pany 7-14/4 is quite a bit smaller, but has a reputation for 'purple blob syndrome' on Olympus bodies...

Dont forget the oly 7-14. Ive heard good things about that lens. The pany 12-32 is good for a cheap lens and i feel is better then the 14-42 by olympus
+1 on the Panny 12-32 for cheap. Oly 9-18 is also not bad. If you like primes, there's great work on this thread from the 12mm F2 Oly. The rokinon glass is also an option.

Heard good things about the Rokinon 10mm, and you could get it in K mount and mount it on your K-1 (in APS-C mode)?

I'd also like to try out the SLR Magic 8mm and Laowa 7.5mm...

There are at least four small, lightweight AF options: the aforementioned Panny 12-32, Oly 9-18, and Oly 12 f2, plus the Panny 12-60 f3.5-5.6. The Oly 12 is the best of the bunch, but pricey, followed by the Pany 12-60, the Oly 9-18, and the Pany 12-32. My top recommendation would be the Panny 12-60, because it's currently the best of the compact zooms and it's weather sealed, so it fits well with the E-M5ii.

Thanks for good recommends. Size is something to be considered. I do like size of this 12-42, but somehow quality is underwhelming, and it could be little wider. I like 20 mm on FF. Actually my most used lens is 20-35...it is quite big thou. So maybe that 9-18 would actually be great. I do like primes too. So will compare it to that rokinon. It might be fun with my K-3 too.. don't want to put too much money to this thou..just have compact nice quality fun machine.

Great shots with LX!

Here is couple fom my E-M5II

with 12-42 hand held

(stitch)

and couple with my DA*55

well image quality is not even close to my K-1 or even K-3...but it is small, and actually it was fun to go around. i also tried my M 75-150 yesterday. So different perspective, and I know that I could just crop it from my K-1 but this seems to be different thing. EVF takes some time to get used to. But I think that with nice little lens it will be a lot of fun, maybe even some small primes at some point, who knows.

Thanks for that - the Panny 12-60 3.5-5.6? I have been considering trading either my GM1 or GM1 for either the G85 or E-M5ii with that lens as a compact WR travel solution (when actually backpacking).

The odd ripple from a passing jetski, and waterski boats..... Complete with pumping music.

Sometimes pictures are like silence.

I've been looking at quite a few images shot with the Panny 12-60 3.5-5.6 on Flickr and have been impressed. I suspect it's now the best of the compact variable aperture zoom lenses and yes, it would make an excellent companion for either the GX85 or E-M5ii for outdoor/backpacking work.

From another fine compact Panny zoom, the 45-175:

Cheers - that lens is also on my list at some point. One from the slow (but oh, so compact) 35-100mm:
