Well, I guess I'll be hanging out here more often if I want to visit PF. I've just sold my K5 and several of my lenses. Soon, I'll be MFT only. I have the E-P1 and the OM-D, and I find that I use the OM-D to the exclusion of everything else. I hated to see my nice Pentax kit sit, so I decided to sell it. I'm sure I'll jump back in one day. Anyway, this was my wife's reaction when she found out I would be selling some of my "stuff" (she's the anti-hoarder):

Taken with the OM-D and the Sigma 30mm f/2.8.

Yes, it's a nice lens. I have the black version - I just never saw the silver one until now. Looks much nicer than the black one. Good purchase!

whoooooaaa..
uh.. no..

I meant 'locally' when I posted 'here'..

Don's Photo, smaller somewhat awesome chain of camera stores in Canada, is having a sale on GH3's for $999 for all of february..
Sorry.. I don't know if posting that plug violates forum taste laws or not.. It was by far the best price I've found yet on a GH3.
the other big chainey store actually price matched that since the local Don's had units back ordered (I guess they are selling lots of 'em)

I'm not affiliated in any way with Don's.. just a guy pumped to get a sweet new cam!!!!

Eventually the weather cleared up a little bit so I could go out to give the 14-42 a try which came with the EPL-5.

The low iso IQ of the EPL-5 resembles (to me of course) to my highly praised k200D image output. Not an expert on this but both sensor has a weak AA filter-hence the similarity. Maybe :-)

I wonder how the new 42.5mm F0.95 would compare @ F1.8 .

COSINA 2013 CP+ ?? Voigtlander 42.5mm F0.95 MFT & VM 50mm/F1.5?? - YouTube

Yes that's a very good question. The 45 1.8 is just so good I really wonder who will spend that money for a big(ger), (ok brighter) manual lens. Also one of the things I like about m43 is that even though the lens can be fast, it's DOF is not that thin compared to crop of FF for the given aperture. Shallolw DOF is not always an advantage. For me f1.8 or f2 is enough.

Definitely not easy to take a picture of our cat with MF.

To be honest for me it's difficult to beat the 45 1.8 in terms of IQ/size/AF/price.

The EPL2 is a cult classic. The EPL2 has a weaker AA filter, faster AF, and is more responsive. The EP2 has better build quality and probably better IBIS.

For myself, I prefer the EPM1, which has the faster 120Hz AF. I love that camera. If your budget can go up to the EPM2 then you get a modern Sony sensor with blazing AF in a little package. Slightly off topic, I know, but I love my Pen Mini in ways that drive my other cameras into a jealous rage.

E-PL2. It has an actually useful integrated flash that you can tilt with a finger for bouncing the light.

I have three bodies but stopped with the E-PL2. Images are slightly but distinctly crisper than with previous models. Build still good. And, yes, it's nice to have the flash for those rare shots it might help. This camera is an excellent value proposition.
