Great shots... I am looking to add another MFT to the gear bag... Anyone have any experience with the E-PL2 or EP3? Should I look at the Pentax Q?

To your first question - yep. I've used and loved the EPL2 quite a lot and I think it's a bit of a mirrorless classic (considering the price it can be had for). The EP3 is also great but that's largely dependant on price - I'd be inclined to look at the new 16mp EPM2/EPL5 instead...

To your first question - No, you shouldn't

Thanks.. Yeah I am mostly looking for a companion to my E-PL1 mostly to use my C-Mounts on. I have seen EP3s go for just under $300.. but I can get a refurb PL2 for about $179. I have a K-5 now for anything that needs to look perfect. So no need for the the EPL5 & EPM2 at the moment... I am bargain hunting..

thx

Are you happy with how your C mount lenses work on the E-PL1? If not, then try the Q - C mount lenses should do a better job of covering its sensor.

FWIW, I reviewed the E-PL2 here.

Three from the past week in Harrison Hot Springs, BC at the resort; panning from right to left at different times of the day.

Love the shots from BC! I'll have to make it up that way one day...

Here's some I got from the old Pentax-M 50/f1.4 on my GH2

I just bought a 2nd MFT body... the e-PM1... I have really connected to the MFT system... Considering consolidating my Pentax gear to just my DA*55 f1.4, K-5 & flash... and selling off my fisheye, limited and macro and look for MFT equivalents... Am I crazy?

The answer will depend on who you ask. Try the K5 forum and they'll issue you a certificate and perhaps even collect money for treatment.

I am now only interested in MFT lenses and bodies and I will want to try a FF MILC when options appear - I just have too many 35mm legacy lenses not to try them on the proper format. I regret the APC-C lenses I got, but at least I don't have many: just the DA15 and the Tamron 17-50 - these can keep on living on the Pentax bodies.

Yeah.. I have a feeling they would ask for my Pentaxian Passport back.. ha

The only MFT lenses I have are the body cap and kit lens... I am more interested in the lenses I can adapt to the body... so looking at legacy stuff... I am also eyeing that ROkinon Fisheye for MFT

I fell in love with the E-PM1, especially combined with the Oly 45/1.8, which is a pocket duo with formidable image quality and blazing AF speed. I also liked the increased DOF for a given shutter/ISO combination, as well as the heavily underrated face detection. When the OMD EM5 came out I bought one and quickly determined that I didn't need a K-5 anymore. Since then I've switched to the E-PM2 for the Sony sensor and I haven't looked back too much.

I did buy a K-01 because it was relatively cheap and I have a soft spot for Pentax, as well as some leftover Pentax lenses.

And I bought a D600 to replace a 5D, for those times when you want to go the other way with DOF. Its nice to have options.

But I've always got a nagging suspicion that APS-C and FF are not as valuable to me as their prices suggest, and I'm also somewhat afraid that when people simply try µ4/3, they may collectively realize that other cameras aren't necessary and then I would never be able to resell/recoup the money sunk into the D600. If the K-01 cost anything substantial I would feel a similar fear on its behalf. Because the bottom line is that µ4/3 is that good. Great lenses, great sensors, amazing IQ.

I think last time I used my Pentax or Nikon DSLR bodies was over a year ago... Somehow, these compact m43 bodies just feel right, at least for me... no stress on the neck or wrist...
