I've been intrigued by mirrorless cameras and recently purchased an Olympus E-M10 m4/3 with the 14-40 and 40-150 stock lenses. I love the compactness and light weight - some days I just don't want to carry around my K5 and lenses. The EVF is very different for me and I'm still getting used to it.

Anyways, here's a shot from today's hike.

This is how I started too. I later on bought an adapter and speed booster so I can use my K lenses as well.

Me too. Still fussing with it. Got mine on Amazon for $400 with the kit lens and added the 40-150 plus a charger with two added batteries for a total of $525.
So far I really like the ability to see and adjust the hgram before I take the picture. For a RAW ETTR shooter that's a big deal.

Here a test shot with the 560mm scope at about 35 feet plus a pretty extreme crop - not bad for that small sensor.

My understanding is that those are really only useful if you stop down so the benefits of speed at least are lost. Is that your experience?

No.....theres a few threads on the M43 forum that are quite informative.

There are plenty who have switched from Dslr size to M43, they like the compactness/choice of lenses and what the equipment produces....some of the Macro shots ive seen are quite up there with bigger systems.

A few from me. E-M1 with 12-40mm f2.8 or the Oly 17mm for the last one. I've found M43 a very good size/weight vs IQ trade-off and as the system is mature there is everything I could want by way of lenses and accessories. I could get better IQ is most cases from, say, a Pentax K-70 and perhaps the Pentax 16-85mm but it is more to haul around and less flexible for some things. I also love using blinkies in the EVF to enable accurate exposure for highlights or shadows, a hugely useful feature for me.

Fall leaves near peak color in Western New York. Here's a couple pics from yesterdays hike taken with my Olympus E-M10 and 14-42 kit lens.
Enjoying the new camera, but still a work in progress
