Cheers, I did try darkening, but too much drama!

A couple of recent photos. Winter has definitely arrived:

TAv mode possible on my E-M10?

Is TAv mode possible on my E-M10 while retaining the ability to set Ev on the fly in real time with the histogram display like in S and A mode or something close?
I've gone through the manual and so far the answer would seem to be no but maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks,
Wildman

The closest you can get is to set auto ISO in M mode. Unfortunately, there is no EV compensation when you do that, so histogram displays are largely useless under those circumstances. It turns out that auto ISO in M is not a real alternative to TAV if you're missing EV comp.

Very fine image. The more I see your images the more I am tempted to get a genuine WA. At the mo, the widest I have is the 12/24mm of the 12-40mm Oly zoom. Anyone prepared to sing the praises of the 9-18mm which is somewhat affordable or should I be looking elsewhere?

I owned the 9-18 for several years and, initially at least, used it quite a bit, and even won a couple of awards with images from the lens. The lens is fairly sharp away from the edges, with really good contrast and color in the 9 to 15 range. The biggest selling point, however, of the 9-18 is its diminutive size. It's surprisingly small for a wide angle zoom. It also works great with filters. Even at 9mm I never had an issue with vignetting even when using a rather thick 10 stop ND filter combined with square cokin-P filters.

An image from the Oly 9-18:

For those shooting Pany cameras, the Pany 7-14 is a very credible solution. On Olympus cams, the 7-14 is prone to purple fringing/blobbing from strong light sources. The other option is the Oly 7-14 Pro, which is a bit heavy for an m43 lens but optically excellent.

Thanks, I think I might check out the Christmas sales then. It looks to be the 9-18mm or the 7-14mm as really the only two choices out there since I only have Oly bodies. Lack of filter support with the 7-14mm is a bummer, imho, but maybe the image quality makes it worth it. Have to see what's left in the piggy bank in ten or so days!

Thanks for that.
I thought I might be missing something what with all the settings on the Oly.
