Yeah, I wish they would fix the JPEG engine, but I don't think that is ever going to happen. The edited raw images look very good though.

Here are a few from our recent beach trip:

and the good thing is it is quick and easy to throw it into auto to pass off to others so you can get in some of the family photos

Nice pěctures!!! so clean

Tried taking this picture with the K-1 as well, but it looked better with the Olympus OMD EM5ii and the Panasonic 12-32mm

Luckily i hadnt deleted them off my sd card yet, so i guess i can show everyone a comparison. Its not exactly the same i have the ones from the k-1 in portrait view instead of landscape like the olympus.

Would it be an issue to post one k-1 photo on here for the comparison or should i start a new thread?

If you wanna start an argument, post it in the K-1 forum or elsewhere with the title "K-1 loses to M43"
If you wanna keep it civil, post it here

Ok so here is the k-1 version of the picture, I tried working the image but it was really more labor intensive then I would have liked. As far as why I like the Olympus version more, I think it had to do with color, tones, ease of processing, Aspect ratio. I even cropped a version that I posted above to match the k-1 in the way of aspect. Let me know what you all think.

I see what you mean - and agree with you! I love the colours I get from the JPEG engine on my E-M5 (Mk1), and find them near impossible to replicate from RAW - annoyingly. (The camera's JPEG sharpening engine brings in some horrid noise if you look too closely - so I choose great colours over best pure "IQ"). I had a NEX-5N and an RX100 and the Sony colours are an abomination though.

In good light, unless at full crop, or in extreme contrast conditions, I don't think you are going to see much difference in overall picture quality.

Colours OTOH, are different, and you've demonstrated that well. Also, the luminance of the greens is a bit darker on the Oly shot, IMO.

And I completely agree on the NEX-5n. I would say that colours on more recent Sony cameras have been better. As have Panny gear.
