It's true that the EVF doesn't always give the best sense of what the photo will look like - especially when I review a shot in the EVF. That's why I (almost) always
wait until I view photos full size on a computer monitor before tossing them. Sharpness, what's in focus and what's not can be misrepresented in the EVF (and even
the back screen).

Oh yeah, I never use the camera to cull photos--it's just so much easier and quicker on my pc and it's not like I'm ever hurting for card space (and if I were--like shooting sports or an event--I'd want to be very careful about my choices.)

must be the same reason why I’m using mostly LV with my E5MII, when I’m using it(even is looking through VF is also LV.)

On my m43 cameras and on my Pentax I find that the range of the exposure isn't well represented on the EVF or the LCD. I have had shots that looked better than they are and vice versa when viewed on the LCD back of the camera vs. waiting to view at home. I haven't tried taking a nice tablet in the field and trying an IPS screen in the field to see if that helps.

A tiny, tiny fly from this morning. I did cull out many images of this fellow while the card was still in the camera. It was easy: delete those images that were nothing but bokeh, and that was quite a few. When this close to something so small, it's like trying to hand-hold a 500mm lens steady. I probably would have gotten more keepers by using flash.

Thanks! Seems like the rendering of the Oly files is quite distinct from what I get from my Pentax gear (I dunno, maybe more micro-contrasty or something?) That will take some getting used to, too.

Hover fly, at leisure, from a photo-op walk around the yard early AM this week. I really should have used flash to maximize IQ.

went to the Nevada County Fair in Grass valley region the other weekend and brought along the em1ii. besides using the Olympus 25mm f1.8, I thought I would also try out a new lens the Panasonic 50-200 f2.8-4.0.

25mm f1.8

50-200 f2.8-4.0. So far I've only had a small chance to use this lens and I needed something a little longer, and I think it produces awesome vibrant colors. Also about the same size and weight of the 12-100mm.
