I'm starting to get the hang of the Oly. This is hand-held with the 300mm & 1.4x TC:
The Oly 300mm is a bit big & heavy, but the IQ is an eye-opener.

And a local event, a traditional race with old boats, these are called "Moliceiros" they were used, to carry seagrass and algae to be used in agriculture, at my city these boats were a bit tweaked and converted to tourism, these photos are from a smaller place north from me, and these ones are still original ones.

How do you think it compares to Pentax's?

It's sacrilege, but I prefer the Oly. Maybe because it is functionally 600mm. Judge for yourself in the uncropped & cropped pairs below (these have gone though PP, so not OOC)

Here's my own Pentax vs. Olympus. These pictures are a couple of years apart. I was quite proud of the recent one taken with the E-M5ii but I have to admit the Pentax is a bit better.

Both are about 50% crops, JPEGs out of camera with minimal but identical PP.

Weather was nice this week-end and unusually hot, perfect for some hiking and photography.

That 300/4 and tc combo seems really good. Makes sense for shots like these.

A few from me, Oly E-M1 and Oly 40-150mm f2.8 or 25mm f1.8 (the last one). The 40-150mm is one heck of a nice lens.

It's a wonderful setup and at about 840mm equivalent and 1.4m min focus it's almost a macro lens olympus pro lenses are a lot of fun.

Yes, it is amazing isn’t it. I could hardly believe it myself. A Superb Fruit Dove, native to Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. According to the caption in the enclosure. I was in London zoo and they have a walk-through aviary in a building containing some smaller birds from the tropics.
