Here's my own Pentax vs. Olympus. These pictures are a couple of years apart. I was quite proud of the recent one taken with the E-M5ii but I have to admit the Pentax is a bit better.

Both are about 50% crops, JPEGs out of camera with minimal but identical PP.
I should have returned long since with this observation or comment. "Photography" basically means creating an image with light. The second image has very flat light, the first has oblique, dramatic light and consequently there is far more texture and a richer range of tones on the monarch's wings, which make for a better image. In terms of IQ, at the scale I can see on screen, it's a toss-up. BUT, what matters is the image, not the picky-picky detail. Because of the quality of the light the first image is better, not because of the equipment that was used.

Perfectly framed scenic, lots of visual interest foreground to infinity.

Nice observation, thanks. I hadn't seen it until you pointed it out, but what you say makes perfect sense.

Thanks. It actually can be a bit of a challenge to take a bad picture in Glacier NP, especially on a beautiful day.

Another Glacier NP shot, again with the Pany 12-60:

Very nice.

Panasonic makes two 12-60s, the f3.5-5.6 and Leica f2.8-4. Which one do you have? I recently got the f3.5-5.6, and while I haven't had a lot of chances to use it I really like it so far.

I have the variable aperture version (rather than the panaleica). As far as I can make out, it's the best of the slow aperture compact zooms on m43 (and I've tried most of them). It's actually fairly sharp over most of the image with good contrast and color. I appreciate the fact that it offers a generous range and weather sealing and that it weighs under half a pound.

Another shot from the lens:

I have this lens too and (in my non expert opinion) it is excellent at the wide end and more than adequate at the long end. The several comparisons that I have read in the blogosphere all seem to agree that optically, there is not much difference between this lens and the PanaLeica version (besides the brighter aperture on the latter).

A recent example of mine...

Couldn't resist and pulled the trigger on brand new GX9+LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15/F1.7 for 1000 EUR -- massively impressive combo, wow.
