Maybe we should switch lenses; I shoot with a Pana GX85 + Oly 75-300

This is also hand-held. I find that the 16MP GX85 doesn't have a lot of room for cropping, and even at base ISO it tends to be a bit noisy (although I believe that's no more than should be expected from such a small sensor).

Even with the E400. Processed by the original Olympus converter.

If anyone is looking for an adapter to use M39 SLR lenses (for really early Zenit etc.) on Micro 4/3, it turns out that an M39 adapter for Leica rangefinders, Fed, Zorki etc.works perfectly if you can add a 16mm extension tube. Useful, because there are some really nice wide-aperture manual lenses and small telephotos available in that fitting, which seem to be slightly more common than the M42 equivalents. I got lucky and found a set of M39 tubes in a job lot of camera junk, and I am now VERY glad I bought it.

Just want to say thanks for everyone who responded to my earlier posts and gave help. It's the most helpful responses I got anywhere I asked.

I ended up scoring a G85 with basically zero shutter count, yay! And I'm looking forward to learning all about it. My first mirrorless camera.

Joining the club with a Panasonic G95. I've been wanting a long lens for birds, so mft made sense to me for this specific use. The weight/size larger formats bring wasn't suitable for cycling and hiking (the 150-450 isn't an outlier at all, after a bit of research). I'm still waiting for the long lens to arrive.
This is my first photo shot with the kit lens. So now I'm the happy owner of two doomed systems (at least according to the internet)

Tonight's moon from central London - slight cloud and hand held so not as good as I would have liked.

Here's a shot from my new to me G85. Not sure what lenses to be saving for but the kit seems OK thus far. Certainly sufficient for shots of my kids biking and that sort of thing.

Seems that there is some sort of synergy between MFT and Pentax...not sure why that is. I too jumped all in with MFT, but with Olympus primarily (though I have the very cheap used GH1 on it's way to me, so that will tip the scales towards Panny). I found myself watching for good used 'Pro' lenses, and have now blown most of my overtime on acquiring three to cover the whole 7 - 150mm range - they are beautiful lenses. They handle fine on my E-M5 ii with battery grip, and if I want something smaller I pull the grip off and slap on a Panasonic 14mm or 20mm - and then it's simply tiny!

For some reason I've had an aversion to picking up serious Sony or Canikon gear (though I have a couple of old Canon compacts). I think I might feel a certain affinity for the Fujifilm X system though, but how many camera systems does one person need!

Love this Micro Four Thirds stuff though. For some reason, I just find it to be a lot of fun to use!

It has nice bokeh.
