This is a thread about the Olympus E-M5, not the Pentax K-01. :-P

I think it looks gorgeous, and perfect for all those fantastic compact primes Oly and Pany are putting out. A REAL temptation. If it features yet another "tweaked" panny sensor, though, that's probably the end of my interest. I've gotten too reliant on the nonexistent shot noise in the shadows on Sony's sensors with every DNG I open in lightroom.

^ Lol... jctus101's statement to monochrome.

I like it so far, but I like the retro thing done by Olympus and Fuji. If Pentax had made a mirrorless LX, ME, etc., instead of the K-01, I would be all over that.

For the K-02, with a proper viewfinder and all, I'm not sure the K-01 is too far from an LX, just bump the middle bump up a smidge

On another site, someone has actually made an effort to piece it together (based on available snippets)

Well, we have official brochure shots of the top half from the front now, plus a view of the top of the back. Just reinforcing my opinion that this is one of the most beautiful cameras made yet in the digital era. Small, tight, functional, and supporting a line of compact, precision-made, optically stellar lenses that also fit the aesthetic?

Wow. The more and more I think about it, the more this is the digital inheritor of the LX+FA limiteds... and given my previous affection for the 35mm OM cameras, between Oly and Pentax I'm not too picky about who's making it. I'm a little torn. K-01, ugly but loveable? E-M5, last camera I would buy in a long time? Or be practical and get an NX200 once it's cheap?

...I'll have to hang on and see what Oly wrings out of that sensor...

What's the knob for, next to the viewfinder? Film advance? Now that's retro!

I like it.

It obviously has the motor drive, you can't sell em these days unless you can strap on a MD... Oops wrong decade, by about 30

I dunno about that last pic: the OM never had such a peaky peak on top, and the bottom just looks like we're in for that boxy, square 80s look all over again

But there's a hinge on the LCD!

Hmmm seem to be commenting on a non-existent post here Oh there it is below this one, some sort of time warp.

Here are some images I found at http://www.43rumors.com/ft5-first-full-size-pictures-of-the-e-m5/comment-page-1/#comments. If these images are true, it looks like they did a very nice job on this camera. If you want a very small camera, just take the camera body. If you like you cameras a bit larger, purchase the vertical grip. If you want an even larger camera, purchase the horizontal grip. I don't know why other camera companies have not done this before. Add weather sealing and fast autofocus, and this may be the camera that causes me to trade in my k200D.

The only thing that bothers me is the size of that hump. It looks like they could have made it half the height. If there is nothing useful there, I will be disappointed (I am kind of hoping it is a built in GPS module).

This camera is 100,000 times more gorgeous than the K-01, which puts me in mind of that hideous tupperware car the Top Gear bunch built. Consequently, this Olympus deserves to sell 100,000 E-M5's for every K-01.
