Cosina Voigtlander 17.5/f0.95 (MFT)

Wow... If this is anything like the Nokton 25mm then I'll eat noodles for a year so I can buy one

This will be a great companion to my 25mm F0.95 Nokton.

It's amazing to see m4/3 lenses now that give you DOF control of an F2 FF lens or F1.4 APS-C lenses (approximately). Not to mention the amazing IQ of these lenses (well the Nokton 25mm anyway!) as well.

Us "poor" folk have no choice. I was eating 29 cent ramen two decades ago and I'm eating 79 cent ramen now. :-)

And an MFT 6mm f4, 10mm f2, 42.5mm f0.95, 67.5mm f1.2 and 100mm f2 Macro

You may have gathered I'm rather a Voigtlander fan...

The FF lens below is the focal length equivalent on FF from the same manufacturer, yet it is 1) a full stop faster 2) much smaller & lighter and 3) 1/3 the price. If that 17mm 0.95 lens isn't the best ad I've seen for FF mirrorless then I don't know what is.

It's actually a stop and a half slower - I think what you meant to say is that it has one stop narrower depth of field, which is quite different.

This one is from the same manufacturer, with the same field of view, price, weight and size, and is still half a stop slower...

"which is quite different" - I disagree, it is exactly the same. What is your idea of the equivalent of a m4/3's 17.5mm f0.95 on FF?

Sucks how they inflate from the bottom and all, but that was never really healthy. Store-brand chicken noodle outpaced Ramen just on affordable calories (and certainly actual nutrition) a decade ago. Ramen's only for if your salt/potassium levels tank, long since.

And, yes, it's actually possible to have too *little* salt in your diet if it's that thin. Not something you hear about. But it's so.

Funny thing is: if you need it to be seventeen cents... It's a buck fifty.

If you can afford to shop somewhere it costs seventeen cents, don't eat that. Unless you've been sweating bullets. K? You may as well just have a bag of chips. Alls it is is salt and a few carbs with some MSG and a pinch of buillion. That's all you get.

In terms of light, f0.95 is f0.95, regardless of format. In terms of depth of field, yes, f0.95 on MFT will give similar to f1.8 on FF.
