Anyone considering the x100 ? I have the k-x and a number of lenses, and I do like the look of the k-01, but probably will wait till I need to replace the DSLR before I move to that. Would have preferred if it were a bit smaller. I liked the x-pro, but too expensive, and I dont want to start a new lens collection so think I will be getting a X100 to play with.

Just got the K-5 to replace K-7, and have a nice little E-p2 kit (20/1.7 and 45/1.8 on it's way), but...I was in a camera store the other day and played around with the X100. Damn. The viewfinder is gorgeous, the 23/2 is my perfect focal length for travel, and the camera oozes quality. AF seemed perfectly okay to me. So, I'm pretty sure the m43 kit is going up for sale, along with the Sigma 24/1.8, to fund a new X100.

The hybrid viewfinder of the X100 is great. A wonderful camera, however not the right one for me. The good thing is I do get to borrow one occasionally.

If it was a 50mm equivalent on the X100 I would have no use for it. In fact, anything but a 20-28 wouldn't work. I generally have the 21 Ltd glued to my camera when I travel, but I was wanting a bit faster than f3.2. I got the Siggy 24 f1.8, but it's huge for walking around. The Fuji just happened to hit the sweet spot for me, and I totally understand why it would be limiting for so many. I've been talking myself out of it since it was released, but it's time to face the truth...I will have one.

We're having our second late April/early May. So now I want even more equipment You're right though, better do a reality check.

I agree with Jay - I'm so glad I purchased last time. Although this time there is also the fact that we've taken on an attic room extension 3 months prior to the birth! 'Nesting' is what I think they call it!

Although, the DA*55 would be very nice for quiet shots of baby in their crib, though...

Will shoot with the K5, EPL-2, XZ-1 and TL350 for another year. One or the other gives me more than i really need. The Oly OMD is a bit tempting tho.

Was very interested in XPro1 initially, but I can't rationalize the price for a system, though I don't foresee using more than the 3 lenses its initially offering.
My G3 with 14/20/45 already does pretty much the same thing as a smaller 2nd system.
Size wise, its actually rather big and since the K-01 has come out, I can basically go for that instead and save on lenses, which I have quite a few.

With the K5 being such a good camera, I really don't need anything else for now.
I can therefore afford to wait for K-01 to have one/two price drops before buying one, or see what's coming up on the horizon.

So instead, I am getting something really portable, unique. Perfect for street shooting and casual shooting.

I've always liked, it but found it too expensive at launch.
With an adapter, it will offer even more 'quirky' options compared to the other mainstream cameras. (eg. macro; long reach)
Getting one once the price drops once more from now.

I am not actively looking for any new cameras.
However if Yuri at Fedka can find a nice Iskra 6x6 folder made in 1961 (my birth year) I will buy it.

If my K-7 breaks down I'l get a K5 (or successor?)

If my Kx breaks down I'll get a K-01 or another Kx!

The only camera(s) that has tempted is an ultra compact ILC like a Q or a Panasonic GX.
Out of the two most likely Pana, I love that compact zoom
Alternatively I would LOVE a Fuji X100 which would kindof get me a 24mm lens!
Also it won't tempt me to buy lenses for more than one system

Actually, micro 4 3 got me into Pentax. Was ready to pull trigger on Panasonic GF1 plus 20mm pancake, but read a lot about limitations of AF, lack of OVF. High cost was the final straw. Decided for the price back then in March 2010, I could get a KX with 2 kit lens and the 40mm. 20k actuations and several lenses later (incl 21mm and 70mm), got the K5. So I'm pretty all set now for what I feel is the high end of what I intend to do. Then saw the K01 and really would not add much to what I already have. Got lured back to micro 4 3 with Olympus EPL1 (what a deal for less than 300). Now awaiting a Panasonic 14mm F2.5 pancake (18mm in Pentax) and quite possibly the legendary Panasonic 20mm (if it ever becomes available).

I was experimenting initially with 21mm on K5 and 70mm on Kx. Pretty cool combination. But once I get my Panasonic pancake, I think I will put the 40mm on the K5 and have the EPL1-plus pancake in my jacket pocket.

Will check to see if the K-5 replacement is worth all the saving up I'm doing ... or well, if I really need 24MP.

Chances are, when it comes out - I'll probably just get a body only or with the 18-55WR, would love the 18-135 but that's way out of budget.
If it ain't that a far cry from the K-5 might as well get the latter secondhand and a good lens with it like a DA21 Ltd + the DA 50 1.8.

and nope, not looking at any Panafujicanikonympusony offers...
