Canon 5D Mark 3 Listed for Pre-Order

Adorama has been very quick with this, the camera is already up:
5260B002 Canon EOS-5D Mark III Digital SLR Camera Body, 22.3 Megapixels - USA Warranty

I would rather have a D800, honestly, for that amount of money. FF sensors should be in the 30MP range these days considering that APS-C sensors are hitting the high teens and low twenties now.

I expected a higher frame rate than 6FPS, thought it would be around 8 or 9.

Adam, I know you want your sponsor do a favor. But sincerely, it was no reason to create a duplicate for the 5DmkIII thread ...

Do you ever just relax and let things go when they don't fit your idea of how things should be?

This is just a casual forum to discuss a hobby.

It isn't a research paper.

If there is one thing you should learn, it is to never argue with a German engineer, because they are always right. (I've spent 16 years working on SAP installations, so I ought to know by now.)

More important: brand new AF system, New metering, double burst rate, LCD was awesome on 5D2 but it is even better here, dual cards, Slilent & Low vibration modes, improved auto ISO handling, etc. etc.
I've been reading all this whine about this camera not being 36 MP while Nikon blah, blah, blah, and Nokia made 41 mp phone.

Shooting with 5D2 for 3 years now, I think with this upgrade Canon really listened to it's users. I am not going to be an early adopter for 5D3, but I will definitely go for this camera in 1 year, when price will settle a little. I wish Pentax made this body and my 70-200L, I would never jump to the dark side.
