Hi, i am using canon 5d camera for last two years. I just seen one video on on net, which was shoot on canon camera with Pentax 50mm 1:1.7 lens and i love it. My question is , how can i use Pentax 50mm 1:1.7 lens with canon 5D camera, and as i need any adapter for it if i want to buy this lens or some other lens from Pentax. Could anyone help me out , from where i will get all these things. Thanks

Check eBay for Pentax K to Canon EOS adapters. I believe you need a "chipped" adapter for focus confirmation.

Also there may be some issues with the mirror in the 5D hitting the rear element of the 50/1.7. If this is the case I believe either the mirror needs to be shaved down, or the aperture lever on the lens needs to be removed.

I'm not a Canon user, but hopefully someone with more direct experience can step in here.

I agree with his assessment about it not being "a game changer". Also, with it's price point higher than the D800, I feel it will actually lose brand loyalists to Nikon.

Maybe, but I think it is "good enough" that people fairly invested in Canon lenses will probably stick with it. It just isn't that easy to switch systems once you have a lot of high end lenses.

Holy smokes, this place is the land of camera shooters.
The entire beach seems made-up of people taking pictures of one another.

Thats what I said on my facebook! OMG. random people were taking pictures of random people in a deserted beach filled with people in complete clothing! And apparently if you are willing to wear a bikini you'd be a pro model! Ahahaha...the only gal in bikini in the whole beach. That was amazing.
