That little point and shoot is amazing, I'm getting one! Pentax should make a mirrorless camera like it.

That's the sensor the Pentax Q needs.

And they (Pentax) should put out a fixed focal length, fast lens version of the Q with this sensor.

My wife was asking what P/S she should buy if she was going to get one. this and the fuji X10 were the 2 I told her to look at (the X10 because ti has a VF that is pretty decent - the one thing this sony lacks)

I own the Canon S100 as my back-up point and shoot, and I love it, but Sony has hit the target with the RX100. If you haven't seen it, It was very positively reviewed in the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/28/technology/personaltech/a-pocket-camera-ev...pagewanted=all

I'm tempted.

Stuff like this is why I never bought and of the early DSLR's. My train of thought was "If my P & S has better MP's at the fraction of the cost, I'm not buying it".

That was an incorrect train of thought though, as a 6mp DSLR will still beat most compacts on IQ, no matter what MP they have.

Well, I'm glad I did delay till the K-5 was unveiled. I don't like wading through a bunch of baby camera's(like the company is fond of)waiting for the true top model to debut.

Jin, nice job on the K-30 video (and don't apologize for your English - I speak a little German and certainly wouldn't attempt to do what you did here on a German web-site). Re the hairs on your PC desk, you have to quit surfing the porn sites ;-)

Best,
Kevin

I think these prosumer compact might win sharpness if they resize to 6mp..
but they lack overall IQ , like color depth, dynamic range, high ISO...

Promising. I'm eager to see some tests. I never thought the K5's focus is bad, but the points are too big. If those are made smaller, then I think we'd be ok.

Jin-San,

If anyone asks about the hair, tell them that you like to sleep on the desk... naked.
