Bought the Sony rx100ii to try my hand at video for my recent 20th wedding anniversary trip in Spain, but it turned out to be useful for stills too. In fact, I plan to use it as my day to day camera from now on! The last picture is one of those 'put in P mode and hand it to another tourist mode, and it did well enough for my needs to warrant this being my travel camera

P.S: Oh, yes I did post my video for which I bought this camera, in another thread here:

A few colourful street art shots. I often walk through this area after visiting the supermarket, so all I have with me is the RX100.

Lismore, in northern NSW (Australia).
The local council had a project to revive some unused back alleys as a creative space, and maybe entice more people to linger downtown when they visit. It's a project very much inspired by what Melbourne has been doing very successfully for the last decade.

The other goal of the Lismore project is to emulate Melbourne's ability to turn those alleyways into a vibrant cafe society. But that will take a lot more work.

Some more street art

Bumping the RX-100 thread with some more street-art, a subject the RX-100 is very good at shooting:

This pigeon died a few minutes beforehand. It broke it's neck as it crashed into a reflective window on a nearby office tower.

Picked up an original Mk1 late last year. Still exploring the features and potential:

So is RX 100 mark. I, any good compared to mark. III. should I say that this camera seems good option for compact camera, maybe even mark II would be good enough? or is mark III really much better for future shooting? Meaning that If I would save some hundreds when buying older models, would I be missing something later?

I'm quite happy with RX100 v1. Excellent lens and sensor.
RX100 V3 would be nice of course, but the fundamentals don't change much.

Thank you for ansver. This compact seems like nobrainer to me but v3. Is way too much for me.
