Geez, the sample pics he shows destroys the NEX-7 and the X100...
If I only shot things that did not move, at ISO 100, this camera would merit serious thought.

I wonder how many decades from now will Sigma decide to produce a MILC system around this sensor. I think they would sell more MILCs than they would sell SD1s.

Just too bad we can't all own an assortment of cameras, where we would have one in particular for revery need or desire. This one would be dandy for many uses....worthless for others. I just strive to have the one best for me that does it all...haven't found it yet, never will.

Regards!

I like Bayer alternatives like Foveon, inVisage, Fuji's pattern. I really hope this technology continues to advance to a more multi-use state. That said, something like a DP2M would make a great 2nd camera.

You know what's funny, I always say the same thing but regarding cars. For example I want a Mercedes for comfortable daily driving, a pickup for hauling and towing, a Jeep for offroading, a full blown muscle car for the drag strip, and a convertible vette for sunny San Diego cruising.

I think the multiple camera dream is a lot more realistic than mine, lol!

Who in their right mind would shoot this camera at 6400? It is a specialty camera and was reviewed a such...you don't go to a Chinese restaurant and get upset because they don't have burritos.

This will make a nice companion to my K5. I'd shoot just like I was using a view camera, 100 iso on a tripod for landscapes. I too have been searching for one camera that does it all and agree it doesn't exist. This pairing of a fast, good in low light K5 with the slower eye popping IQ of the DP1 Merrill is the next best thing....

Joe is very dedicated to promoting the K-01. If you give him a moment, he'll tell us next about the millions of K-mount lenses that can work on it without an adapter
