Awesome, would be interesting to see how new dual AF system with 102 AF point performs (though only 11 cross type, way below D800 or MkIII)

Sony only had 3 announcements to Pentax's 9! What a fail Sony

We pentaxians can only dream of these kind of kind announcements, 2 * FF cameras and a tiny APSC mirrorless with inbuilt EVF. Talk about setting the bar high.

I'm not sure these qualify as actual previews since the pages seem to be made-up of the same images and info. that's been circulating around for the past few days.
Though DPReview seems to have a nice spread on this little gem of a camera as well as a video: http://www.dpreview.com/previews/sony-alpha-slt-a99

Its interesting to see that ppl whine about the K5iis with 16mp sensor, while the NEX6 using a 16mp sensor and as a scaled down NEX7 is 'ok'.

The e-mount lens announcements are the interesting part to me.
Perhaps it will finally make NEX a proper system.

.
Possibly because they have other choices, including 24MP NEX7, or 3x new 24MP Fullframe toys to also upgrade to, while Pentaxians do not have anything new worth upgrading to.

Do we have to upgrade every 18 month product cycle?
The K-5's good as is. If there is a need to upgrade to FF now, may as well switch systems - or consider a 645D.

The Sony announcements are pretty stunning. FF DSLR, FF compact, NEX-6, 3 e-mount lenses including a compact kit lens to finally mean a very compact NEX system is possible, and add to that the fantastic RX100 & the "OK" NEX-5R from a couple of months ago.... seems like this company want to get market share don't you think?

Oh wow, what a great price for the NEX 6. I almost forgive them for not making a full frame NEX.

Not sure about "we" I can only speak for me, and my K-7 is over 2years old, and I would like something better. So yes I would of liked to of upgraded to a K-3. (But that has nothing to do with this thread)

Good 2 years ago, is not good for my next 2 year investment and especially not at a new higher inflated price, If Pentax can't deliver a K-3 or decent upgrade for customers like myself, than absolutely I'm looking at alternative system choices, and look forward to the announcements from others at Photokina to see my options.

A99 is nice, but I'm not sure I could live with certain things, and the price is a little too expensive, when I would likely go for a D800e for not much more money and keep the OVF as well.
I will have to check out the A99, D800e, and respective glass choices, between now and December, I will also look at the Fuji after the latest firmware updates. So it's nice to have choices.

I agree with above comments, that Sony did better with 3 announcements than Pentax have done with 8 this time around.

While the NEX6 seems a good proposition especially with the more beefed up lens lineup, Fuji has stepped up the APS-C MILC game with the XE-1, which promises as much and likely better due to fast, smaller lenses, TransX sensor, more proper form factor with native lenses and no potential issue with short registration distance as seen on the NEX7.

If the NEX6 and the lens line up was earlier than now, it would have been a home run for Sony (at least for APS-C MILC).
Now, its not so clear.
Personally, I'm more attracted to a XE-1 as a 3 lens system.

What I find funny is how my views on Sony and Pentax have changed.

I used to be anti-Sony, but now I am changing to the pro-Sony camp.

I used to be Pro-Pentax, but now I fell myself losing interest in the Pentax camp.

Sony keeps introducing interesting gear, while Pentax brings out strange looking machines like the K-01, and re-hashed K-5's.

Kind of sad.

That RX-1 looks like one serious point and shoot.
Its problem will be that the persons who can afford to pay that much find a Leica nameplate more important than the Sony features.

The A99 is looking pretty sweet I must stay.
Not sure about sensor IQ under translucent mirror technology, but.. .if it delivers, we might just see the A99 taking the top spot as best FF camera for 2012/13.

Has anyone else seen the accessories for this body? Specifically the video accessories?

Crazy stuff is all I can say at this point.
