Very weird line up from Sony, a fixed lens point and shoot size FF camera and a translucent mirror FF in the A99 - why would you go FF but lose a third of the light with the translucent mirror, plus the inherent limited life and problems that shooting through a very thin piece of stretched plastic produces (I had the A55 and was very unimpressed by the look of the "mirror" that you're shooting through).

If a FF nex 9 comes out, won't there be a FF GXR M? That is very attractive for those who don't need AF. Voigtlander FF lenses seems very reasonable. So does some Zeiss ZM. Heck even the FA limiteds could be used at the cost of a bulkier adapter.

A niche of a niche of a niche. Can a market get any smaller?

The RX-1 looks like a response to Fuji X-Pro, not to FF DSLRs.

The price is ridiculous too.

EDIT: It's fixed lens, so it doesn't even compete with X-Pro. Meh...

Maybe, but Amazon lists it in the top 10 in sales based of the first round of pre-orders. I think its sales will surprise a lot of people.

If IQ, AF, & write speeds/buffer are all excellent it will be in the bag of an awful lot of wedding togs.

Ridiculously low, you mean?

The Zeiss Sonnar 2/35 is a value of at least $1100, if you look at Biogon 2/35 or Sonnar 1.8/24. And this would be a 1.3/23 on APSC...

So, you are left with a MSRP of $1700 for a full frame body. Just imagine its label would be NEX-9, not RX1...

Actually, if you ask me, the only difference to the NEX-9 will be the missing lens release button and missing EVF, and maybe a $300 lower price point. Sony probably would have released this as a NEX-9 if more of their E-mount lenses were full frame.

I don't know who buys these FF fixed lens camera's, but when there is money in it Pentax could make on based upon the FA31mm.

A FF sensor in a ME Super body with a fixed FA43... 31 is an odd focal length for FF, it's like a 28 but not a 28??? 35 - 40 = perfect everday all day focal length... I'd be the first one in line to buy that bitch...

I think plenty of Leica film shooters are out there cursing Leica for their exorbitant M9 prices.

Zeiss (Click here) just issued an intriguing press release: “Another highlight will be the presentation of a design study, with which Carl Zeiss will offer a sneak preview of a new family of autofocus lenses for mirrorless system cameras (CSC) that will most likely be available in mid-2013. Due to their performance and high speed, these new lenses will be ideal for deliberate photo composition, making them perfect for more sophisticated photographers as well. Carl Zeiss plans to initially offer fixed focal lengths in the wide angle and standard range as well as a macro.”
There is no info about what kind of system will be supported by the new lenses. But it’s only 12 days to go until Photokina starts! Than we will finally see what Zeiss plans to do for real…

Support for SONY FF CSC ?

The 31Ltd isn't good enough compared to rangefinder (well, ones optimized for short flange distance) lenses.

CZ announced to launch AF lenses for CSC cameras. They already do for the NEX (Sonnar 1.8/24).

I think it is a safe assumption that the RX1 lens becomes an E-mount Sonnar 2/35 supporting full frame. Sony actually kept the aperture ring from Zeiss SLR lenses on the RX1. Which I find is an interesting detail.

Its a FF photokina with the big three announcing FF stuff- I believe Pentax needs to say something about any FF plans. A GXR FF M mount would be get some buzz and a prototype underglass Pentax body would be the go....not holding my breath though

I'm expecting Sony to be the first to release a FF mirrorles. As previously pointed out, the RX1 is leading the advance here.

After using the NEX-5N, I am really looking forward to a FF NEX to use with my Pentax-M lenses, and M42 lenses. I can't imagine Pentax making such a camera ever.

As for the RX1, the only think stopping me from buying it is the price. I'm just not in the right tax bracket.

For myself, the Sony announcements are interesting. I am looking forward to having a chance to checking them out at the store. I absolutely see another NEX in my future.

The Pentax releases on the other hand... most I can't even remember.

The 560mm - not interested. if I needed that lens, I would have never owned a Pentax. Nikon or Canon.
The K-5II's - Big deal. After two years THAT is what you introduce? The only plus I see here is that the K-5II won't have the stained sensor problem. It better really have an autofocus that can compete with the D300 or the 7D.
The Q10 - Nikon's V1. Nothing else to add.
645D lens - yippee for big money gear.
The 18-270 - is this not just a Tameron lens?
Q15-45 lens - As hard as I try, I still don't understand the Q
Q lens adaptor. - I would buy a Pentax made NEX-PK adaptor...

I used to be such a fan of Pentax gear. Sigh.
