Ive got $2K burning a hole in my pocket, the D600 will probably put that fire out!

I'll admit, it is appealing. A kit with the D600, D7000, and lenses would equate to about how much I could get selling my current gear... what a hassle that would be though. :/

Dosen't look like this camera can be wrong in any way for someone looking for a FF camera.
It does sit at around the current price of a D700 (where I am).

$1500 was just dreaming imo.
I guess the realities of how FF cameras are priced due to either marketing strategy on pricing and/or sensor/processor costs is plain to see from the many FF launches this year (RX1; A99; D600)

Looks very nice and would fit my hobbyist needs quite well, soccer dad that i am
Im ready with 50/85 1.8G and could sell my D7K, 18-105, 35 1.8 to finance d600.

The only thing that bothers me is the Multicam 4800 af point field spread...
It seems to be exactly the same size as D7K DX coverage, meaning it covers less area in the FX field.
Looks very smallish to me... Thoughts anyone?

Weirdly enough, Nikon fanboys are sounding like Pentax ones in the DPR comments =)) "We expected $1500!" "no feature x? why remove feature y?" etc

I guess it's quite similar whatever ship one rides in lol

That confirms it again: The grass is always greener on the other side. So switching is useless... Owning multiple systems therefore however, makes lots of sense! I just can't think of a good reason to wait for a Pentax FF and not to buy this D600. And I'm a Pentax-fanboy.

David Hobby aka Strobist wrote an article about the D600's 1/200th sync speed..

Strobist: Nikon D600: Think Twice Before You Jump

I'm hoping the D600 will help drive down the price of a used D700.

I dont think it will drive it down much, the D700 is still in high demand and probably will always be.(It is after all, an almost perfect camera)
The D600 only real advantages over the D700 is higher MP's and movie mode , for everything else the D700 is higher speced, alot of people will probably still go for a used D700 and have a few hundred $$$ left over rather than a D600. I guess it depends on how fat your wallet is, alot of people are complaining that the D600 is too expensive.

So he wouldn't exactly be impressed with the 1/180th sec. of Pentax.

this is very appealing

But i will wait a bit juste to see what Adam meant when he said yesterday "FF await us - something was here"

Damn it will be less than € 2000 here, so ... it's really reallllllllly appealing !

Just like the K-5 and K-5 II/s. Almost-perfect APS-Cs. Even with the II/s introduced at lower prices, it cannot guarantee K-5 Classics getting cheaper.

Unless of course, SAFOX proves itself as more of a SAWOLF

Ouch! The D600 does NOT allow for AF fine adjustments... that would definitely be a deal killer for me. I hope to buy another D800E in about two months anyway.
