Been handling this camera extensively for the past couple weeks. It's a beast.

Wasn't really referring to its size, exactly. It's big for a m4/3 camera, but it's smaller than most if not all dSLRs. Build is excellent, grip is great (haven't tried it with the add-on grip but I imagine it'll really complete it), and the image quality is top of the line for a small sensor. Video options and quality are off the charts.

Here's a review, btw (I write for this site but it's not my review): Panasonic Lumix GH3 Digital Camera Review - DigitalCamerainfo.com

Finally! an interchangeable lens video camera I can sink my teeth into.
This looks like it will make a perfect addition to our kit next year.

With the K-01 and the Q, it seems to me that they wanted those products to sit in a niche, with no direct competition.

a few simple features to k-01 would not have hurt the bottom line.... sitting a niche all by itself, on store shelves until the price was slashed 70% is not a good strategy...

a live uncompressed hdmi out, focus peaking while recording, optional battery grip and more video codecs (including the old one from the k-5) would not have hurt sales.....

but.. ricoh has sold rebranded sony camcorders in the past, so maybe a nex vg30 with a kmount and pentax battery, is not impossible?

I'm pretty sure the NEX-VG camcorder line have an E-mount, so using Pentax lenses on it (via a DA adapter) shouldn't be a problem (assuming you don't need AF). So no need to wait!

true... but an af adaptor would be nice, but a knount would be perfect..
I know there's workarounds... I would just prefer to buy a Pentax...

Wanting to buy Sony is practically a mental health disorder similar to masochism ...

That doesn't look huge like people have been b1tching. Looks like an Oly E-500. Rebels are bigger and the lenses for APS-C most certainly are bigger than m4/3
