Bloody hell, and I thought MFT lens development was reaching a plateau...

Just at this Fotokina we have the release or announcements of...

m.ZD 17/f1.8
m.ZD 60/f2.8 Macro
G 35-100/f2.8
G 42.5/f1.2
G 150/f2.8

And there's those that say its still not a serious system

Don't forget the Oly "bodycap" lens.

I'm actually quite interested in the 'body-cap' lens... Tiny, cheap, great field of view, and amazing IQ (my GH2 bodycap always underexposes).

Imagine: you actually use it as a literal bodycap - little back-up EPM2 in your bag while you're shooting with a GH3 and the oh so pretty 35-100, something cool starts happening up close - PING!!! Body cap to the rescue

Yeah, the design is pretty cool actually... it's a classic triplet design (3 independent elements) with a sliding cover to protect the front glass, so you really can use it as a body cap.

It seems to me the most exciting new lenses of the last year or so have been M4/3 lenses. Interesting to see if that trend will continue.

Hard to imagine a photographic situation that the MFT consortium have not anticipated. The classic portrait 85mm and a long prime are two current gaps and -- whammo! -- Panasonic announces the products. Recently we have had the two pro zooms, plus the very nice Olympus 60mm macro. Something for everyone.

Now all I have to do is await a generous benefactor for the funds...
