Canon EOS Rebel T4i (650D): No more whining noise after each shot!

Every single Canon EOS Rebel I've ever used always made a "whining" shutter-recocking sound after each shot. The T4i (650D), from what I've read, has a new shutter unit capable of reaching 5 fps. The videos I've seen show that the shutter/mirror assembly on the T4i sounds like that of a 60D, without the whining noise. As a further note, the T4i inherited the 60D's AF system as well (9 points, all cross-type, center point dual cross-type high precision at f/2.8).

What do you think about the new shutter unit? Have any of you been annoyed by this noise on older Rebels?

Disclaimer: I don't own a Canon EOS Rebel, but this is my experience using several different Rebels from other people. I personally don't get annoyed by this noise, but I've read about people getting annoyed by the shutter recocking noise.

What exactly was that whining noise? I hated it when I had a couple of rebel shooters next to me in a theater. The AF beeps were bad enough, and the shutters were clickity clackity, but the whining noise afterwards was the most annoying.

It's the motor used for recocking the shutter after each shot. A well-designed shutter/mirror drive mechanism recocks the shutter as the mirror goes down, not afterwards like the older Rebels, and the motor shouldn't be that noisy.

Thanks. It always sounded like the sound after a flash goes off, the PEWWWW sound... never liked it.
