How do you compare the RX1 and your Sigma Merrill?
The RX1 is far more versatile (of course) and the image quality is close to the DP2M. RX1 colors appear warmer to me even in raw files. Focus speed in very good light is similar with each, with an edge to the the RX1. In low light the RX1 can struggle to focus at times, but its much better than the DP2M. There is a bit more of a 3d feel to the RX1 images perhaps due to the full frame sensor. I still enjoy the DP2M for its amazing IQ and in good light it is easy to use. Some of the DP2M images have had a film-like quality. The menu system/controls on the DP2M are very simple for making quick adjustments whereas the RX1 is more involved. The physical control of ev, f stop and macro setting on the RX1 is a plus (wish it was on the DP2M). Since you can create and save your favorite settings in both cameras menu control is not a such big deal. I picked up the RX1 as a complement to the DP2M for its high iso strengths and full frame sensor/DR and thought I would sell the DP2M. That's not gonna happen. Both have their quirks, much more on the DP2M but I enjoy shooting with both. If you visit Chicago let me know and I'll be happy to let you try them out.
