The advantage here is that if you do want a D600 you will shortly be able to pick one up cheap as Craigslist will be flooded with kits from people with more money than sense.

That k-30 kit is really nice, both the k-30 and the wg-1 for $799. Plus 8gb card and a Pentax logo sling bag. On the down side it is not the WR lens which seems really weird for something advertised as "Weatherproof camera bundle".

I would be more impressed if it was on the floor in pallet quantities but nice start Pentax. Keep up the good work!

Costco carried the k-30 when it was first released. Long thread on here about it. There was confusion as it was stated as a WR camera and kit, but didn't have the WR kit lens. Then there was some free SD cards in the package that a bunch of folks had issues with.

The D600 shows that FF has become affordable and available as a consumer product. But it's a bulky DSLR, so I have no interest in it beyond the change it announces.

But what impressed me more than seeing the D600 at Costco was seeing a Samsung NX 1000 there as well. If Samsung can do it, why shouldn't Ricoh?
Err... I have a hunch. Maybe it is all the other Samsung product lines... TVs, tablets, computers, phones, microwaves, refrigerators, etc that give them a better footing to negotiate from.
