80th Anniversary of Nikkor lenses

I found this video via NikonUSA's Twitter account.. in honour of 80 years of Nikkor lenses, a neat video showing a little bit of what goes into making them:

How long have you been shooting with Nikkors and which is your favourite lens?

Favorite Nikon film cameras; the Nikon SP. I have both; the original and also the 2005 release. I also still own a Nikon F3t and F6.

I also still own two Nikon digital cameras; one being the D4.

Favorite current Nikon production lens':
Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2.0 G ED VR II Telephoto Lens 2188 B&H
Nikon AF-S Zoom Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF AF Lens 1960 B&H

I've been using Nikkor lenses since about 1999. My favorite lenses to date:

1.) Non-Ai PC 105/2.5
2.) AF60/2.8D Micro
3.) AF-S16-85 VR
4.) AF50/1.4D - especially with a minor close-up diopter filter attached
5.) AF85/1.8D

15 years ago I sold all my Nikon gear and switched to Pentax.
But last year I couldn't resist buying a real nice F2 Photomic.

I got 35/2 AI, 50/2 and 105/2.5 late non-AI Nikkors for it.
I've been thinking about adding a 200/4, under $100 at KEH.

Old Nikon manual focus SLR gear is so reasonably priced now...

Chris

Going on 4 years the best lens I've owned is Nikon's 14-24mm 2.8

Well worth the $1,500 it cost me at B&H back in 2009.

I've suffered no failures, needed no repairs &

I've still got a year left on the Nikon USA 5 year factory warranty.
