Hello from indonesia, my 1st thread. M42 to Canon EOS Adapter Query

Hello All,

This is my first thread, I'm Indonesian...
I only have Canon 1100d body but I'm interested to collect M42 screw mount vintage lenses from Pentax.
Lot of information and data I get from this Pentax Forum.

Now I followed auction on e**y for SMC Takumar, from what I found in forum it will needed special adapter M42 to EOS mount,
I try to finnd cheap adapter for it, some in e**y their price about U$D 4, anybody tried that before?

Cheers...

Hi there! In future it would be better to post this sort of query in 'Non Pentax Cameras: Canon Nikon etc' for a better chance of a response from Pentaxians with Canon bodies.. I have moved the thread there, and amended the thread title so the right people will click on it. If you want to post a general introduction thread in the 'Welcomes and Introductions' forum again please feel free to do so!

Any M42 to EOS adapter will work. There are also the ones with the focus confirm chip, but I never found the ones that I had to be accurate.

I hope that you enjoy the Takumar. One thing that I liked about Canon M42 is that the lens release button will release the adapter, so you can change lenses much faster.

It's annoying that Pentax's M42 adapter does not release easily.

Not sure which Pentax M42 adapter you use. The genuine Pentax M42 adapter is quite easy to take off.

I have a genuine Asashi Pentax adapter. AFAIK, it doesn't come off with the lens release button (does it?).

I hope that I haven't been using it incorrectly all this time....
