@ivoire , those are some more great winter images from you! That statue in the last one (I hope it's a statue! ) looks like somebody frozen in place by a horrendous gust of arctic air. I like your retouch of the pensive tour boat guy, too.

@Mr Bassie, good to see you back! You're getting some good stuff from that botanical garden. I really like the framing and pose of the last one.

I spent the holidays at my Great Aunt and Uncle's house in Wickenburg, which is mostly a retirement community for old west/cowboy types. Lots of snowbirds, too. The town's older than Phoenix, and it's actually the reason the big city was founded, but that's another story.

I spent some time with the 18-35 in a barn at Simpson Ranch. Lots of good photographic opportunities there.

Oh, his one was actually the 12-24 at 12mm and f/8 on a tripod. I had to climb up on top of all the hay to get here. Fun times.

The rest are really from the 18-35, handheld.

18mm, f/1.8 (both)

18mm f/2.5 & 32mm f/2.8

Mr Bassie... very nice series, 1st n last are my favorites. Got more???

scratchpaddy... like your country/cowboy pics. looks like a fun alternative to desert shooting. as for the snow pics, the statue is of Dick Tracy. Richard Earl "Dick" Lochner inked and colored Dick Tracy comic strips while working with Chester Gould (the DT creator). Lochner currently lives here in Naperville, Illinois. With all the snow piled on the statue it looked like he was fending (unsuccessfully) off the elements. It's currently -37 here with the wind chill. I'll be very happy to be departing soon.
